5 IT skills that won't boost your salary

Someone emailed me a very intresting article from InfoWorld I thought I'd share with everyone.

It turns out the 5 least valued IT skills are:

  • Knowing HTML
  • Legacy Programming languages - Cobol, Fortran, PowerBuilder
  • Netware
  • Non-IP Network Protocols
  • PC Tech Support
The artice suggests that having these skills aren't likely to justify increased salaries or wages.  This maybe because the skills are no longer valuable or they are becoming considered more fundamenal.
