AITP invites Christopher Barra and Keith Petersen to share their professional experiences with students. Do not miss this opportunity to learn more about the IT industry from former SDSU students.

Christopher Barra’s background info:

·          currently a first-year MBA student at Univerisity of California, Irvine (UCI).

  • 3+ years of work experience as a Systems Analyst for an IT start-up company
  • Taught IDS 180 at SDSU last semester
  • Former AITP president at SDSU in 2005

 

Keith Petersen’s background info:

·         Started in web design, 3D design and graphic design in 2001 - Worked on school projects or small web site projects

·         Web/Graphic Design for Action Sports Ecommerce Website in 2003 – Awareness of business processes and Marketing efforts

·         Web Developer for a Web Agency in 2005 – Improved my CSS Presentation Layer skills and best practices in code format

·         Developed my student organizations web site – Self taught myself the world of server-side scripting and web database design. Took concepts of IDS Classes and applied them to my own ideas.

·         Web Developer for Management Company – Analyzed current business model and developed solutions for ecommerce, presentation and extranet type of needs. Took what I learned and applied it to real world business on a small company level.

·         Graduated and now I work in a mid-size company as a "Computer Systems Software Engineer" – Developing SQL query skills for custom reporting, Developing intranet to ease communication between teams, Design and implementation of custom solutions for process management and information storage.
